In Lviv, Zelensky holds meeting on security situation in Ukraine's regions bordering Belarus

KYIV. Jan 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As part of a working trip to Lviv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a coordination meeting on the current security situation in the northwestern regions of Ukraine, in particular, on the operational situation on the border with Belarus, the press service of the head of state said.

"We understand that apart from powerful statements, we don’t see anything powerful there, but we must be ready both at the border and in the regions," Zelensky said.

It is noted that information was heard about counter-sabotage measures in the respective territories. The president was briefed about the state and strengthening of fortifications on the border, as well as about the material support of border guards and military personnel in the regions bordering Belarus.

The meeting participants also heard information on ensuring the protection and reliable operation of Rivne NPP.

Zelensky said protection from external risks would contribute to the normal functioning of the economies of these regions.

"The morale of the population is important, how people work depends on it, and how we support the army, our defenders depends on their work," the president said.

Zelensky also honored the memory of Ukrainian soldiers who died in battles with the Russian occupiers.
