In New York, Zelenskyy visits clinic where Ukrainian soldiers treated

KYIV. Sept 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In New York, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the Staten Island University Hospital, where wounded Ukrainian servicemen undergo treatment and rehabilitation, saw the rehabilitation room where special equipment was installed to restore the physical capabilities of wounded warriors. Zelenskyy spoke to the servicemen and wished them a speedy recovery. The President awarded the defenders with the Order “For Courage” of grade three, according to the website of the President of Ukraine on Wednesday morning.

“Thank you for continuing to fight for our country and defend its borders. I also thank the doctors and all those who have been supporting Ukrainian soldiers since the beginning of the full-scale war. We will be waiting for all of you. We need you – every warrior of Ukraine – to defeat the enemy. Thank you for your service! Everyone is proud of you! I wish you recovery, victory and return home,” he said.

In addition, the Order of Merit, grade three, was awarded to Rebecca Gonzalez, Physical Therapist at Staten Island University Hospital Ocean Breeze, Michael Dowling, President and CEO of Northwell Health Corporation, and Peter Leone, Senior Physical Therapist at Staten Island University Hospital Ocean Breeze.

Prosthetics and rehabilitation of Ukrainian warriors is carried out with the support of Kind Deeds Inc non-profit organization. Zelenskyy presented the President’s Gold Heart award to Oleksandr Rubtsov, President and founder of Kind Deeds Inc.
