Nov 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Belarus’ attempt to join the war against Ukraine will be suicide for it, information that Belarus is allegedly preparing an offensive is being spread on purpose, said Andriy Yusov, representative of the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
As Yusov explained on FREEDORM, such fakes are beneficial for the Russian Federation, and so the aggressor country is trying to scare Ukrainians.
"Information and psychological special operations very often pursue several goals at the same time. And in this case, we see different goals, that is, on the one hand, to sow panic among the population, among Ukrainians, including residents of border areas and regions," Yusov said.
He also noted that in this way the enemy is trying to disorient the Ukrainian defense forces, to disperse the forces.
"Well, also the object and goals of this special psychological information operation are Belarus itself and Belarusians, that is, pressure. To make it sparkle, and still drag Belarus itself into a full-scale war, which has not happened up to this point," the Agency explained.
He noted that now it is very important to understand what goals the enemy sets for himself, and it is impossible to be subjected to such a kind of provocation.
"We are not saying that there is no threat from the Lukashenko regime. It exists, and Lukashenko helps Putin with weapons, ammunition, and armored vehicles. He provides his airspace for strikes on Ukraine, but we cannot say that a full–scale invasion and involvement of Belarus in a ground operation will take place in the near future," Yusov added.
