By KYIV. Nov 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine can be merged with the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry for Strategic Industries into the Ministry of Economic Development.
According to the publication ZN.UA, the corresponding concept of consolidation of ministries in the country from 20 to 14 was agreed upon at a meeting held by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky with members of the government on November 8.
In addition, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Reintegration can be merged into the Ministry of Infrastructure and Territories Development.
In general, 20 ministries functioning in the country are planned to be united into 14.
Earlier, in June 2022, a similar initiative to merge ministries was reported by the specialized publication Agroportal. According to it, by the end of 2022, it was planned to merge the Ministry of Agrarian Policy with the Ministry of Economy into a new Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation. In general, according to the publication, it was planned to reduce the number of ministries from the existing 20 to 12.
