By KYIV. May 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Soloist of the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra, after winning the international song contest Eurovision-2022, said that this victory is very important this year for Ukraine.
"This victory is really very, very important this year for Ukraine. We did our best every day, invested a lot of effort to bring this victory. I can’t tell you how glad we are that we managed to do this," Oleh Psiuk, the lead singer of the group, told reporters after the final of the competition.
He also thanked everyone who voted for the group, in particular the Ukrainian diaspora.
Earlier, immediately after his performance with the song Stefania, the soloist addressed the international community directly from the stage with an appeal: "I ask you all, please help the Ukrainian Mariupol, help Azovstal right now," the performer said.
