KYIV. Dec 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine is ready to produce a sufficient amount of ammunition for UAVs, and underwater drones are also at work, Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin said.
“And the position of ammunition for UAVs is essential today. Several dozen companies have already been tested with their products. And today we are ready to produce a sufficient amount of ammunition for UAVs by both state-owned and private companies,” Kamyshin said at a press conference in Wednesday.
The minister also noted the success of maritime drones and expressed confidence that underwater drones will “prove themselves.”
“When we talk about sea drones or even underwater drones – because it is the fourth element that I am sure will show itself. Sea drones are one of the big stories of the war, for some reason it is underestimated this year, but really, what is called the mosquito fleet removed the Black Sea fleet from the Ukrainian Crimea. And this is a good example of how defense tech works. Underwater drones at work, you will see their results in the video when there are successful applications,” Kamyshin said at a press conference on Wednesday.
He said this needs to be “spoken of more carefully,” since Russia is also starting to produce naval drones, and information spreads instantly, so the enemy knows what Ukraine is doing.
In addition, the minister reported a “fold” increase in the production of anti-tank missiles.
“Anti-tank missiles. We also have a multiple increase. This is a very necessary position at the front today, it has proven itself well and has shown itself in battle better than many foreign analogues,” he said.
