KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba has said it is important to prevent a situation when reform of the European Union could be used as a reason for delaying its enlargement.
“We should prevent a situation when reform of the EU could be used as a reason for delaying the enlargement of the EU because this only demotivates. We can see that the EU is most effective on the global arena when it is motivated, inspired, and focused on a common goal. That is exactly how it has been acting since February 2022 in response to Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine,” he said at a conference on EU reform and enlargement in Berlin on Thursday.
The minister also emphasized that Ukraine’s accession to the EU will mean the strengthening of Europe’s security, and not its weakening.
“Ukraine will become an added value, and not a burden for the EU,” he said.
