Kuleba tells Borrell about need to create pan-European defense industry space with EU members, candidate, like-minded countries

KYIV. Nov 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that he discussed with head of EU diplomacy Josep Borrell the proposal to create a pan-European defense industry space with EU members, candidate countries and like-minded countries that would join forces in production of weapons and ammunition.

“I emphasized the need to create a pan-European defense space, where the defense industry policy will be coordinated, where all processes will be synchronized and streamlined, which will allow Europe not only to stably support Ukraine, but also itself, its Armed Forces and defense capabilities. I believe that this pan-European space, the defense-industrial space should include not only EU members, but also candidate countries and like-minded countries. I openly shared these ideas with Josep and will continue to discuss them tomorrow at NATO,” Kuleba said at a joint briefing with European Union High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell in Brussels.

Kuleba emphasized that “our determination and our ability to produce defense technologies and defense products are the key to security and victory in war.”

In addition, the ministers will discuss the NATO Washington summit in 2024 on November 29.
