Kuleba: Too early to say what Israel's position to be on war in Ukraine, we hear statements of new FM

KYIV. Jan 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has stressed that Israel is not an easy country, and it is too early to say what Israel’s position regarding the war in Ukraine will be.

"Israel is not an easy country. There is experience of interaction with Mr. Netanyahu in Ukraine, we heard the statements and actions of the new Israeli Foreign Minister. Now, to be honest, it’s too early to say what exactly Israel’s position will be. I roughly imagine it, but let everyone see it first," Kuleba said during an online briefing on Wednesday.

Earlier, new Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said there would be "some changes" in Israel’s approach to the war in Ukraine, but noted that significant humanitarian aid to Ukraine would continue. According to Cohen, "on the Russia-Ukraine issue, we will do one thing for sure – talk less."

On December 31, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed Benjamin Netanyahu on his inauguration as Prime Minister of Israel, and also discussed with him cooperation between the Ukrainian and Israeli states in the field of security.
