Kuleba urges EU to significantly increase military support for Ukraine

KYIV. Dec 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine needs more weapons and ammunition to win and offers three ways to increase this assistance from the EU and member states, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.

"Ukraine is capable of ending this war with victory and a just peace as soon as possible and will do so with a significant increase in support from the EU. That is why I urge you to significantly increase military assistance for Ukraine," the minister said during his online speech at the EU Council of Foreign Ministers on Monday.

Kuleba also named three ways to strengthen support: the provision of more weapons and ammunition, the expansion of the European Peace Fund to finance the purchase of weapons, the rapid deployment of production lines, including with the participation of Ukrainian enterprises, for the manufacture of ammunition.

"Air defense and missile defense systems, armored vehicles, including tracked vehicles, 155 mm artillery and ammunition, and, of course, NATO-style tanks are among the most priority needs," he stressed.

So, Kuleba called for providing Ukraine with more weapons by January, increasing the European Peace Fund to finance military assistance for Ukraine, and quickly deploying new ammunition production lines.
