Kuleba welcomes adoption of Nuremberg Declaration, under which Russian leadership should be prosecuted for aggression

KYIV. May 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba welcomes the adoption of the Nuremberg Declaration on Russia’s war crimes against Ukraine, according to which the leadership of the Russian Federation should be held accountable for the aggression.

“I welcome the Nuremberg Declaration which draws a direct link between the Nuremberg Tribunal and the Special tribunal on the crime of aggression against Ukraine we’re working on now,” Kuleba wrote on the Twitter microblog on Monday evening.

According to him, the Russian leadership, like the Nazi leadership in 1945, must be held accountable for the crime of aggression.

The Nuremberg Declaration calls for the creation of a tribunal to prosecute crimes in Ukraine. In particular, the document proposes to expand the powers of the International Criminal Court and establish a court to prosecute crimes committed in Ukraine.

“We call upon the international community to support the establishment of a tribunal fto prosecute crimes of aggression as defined under international law committed on the territory of Ukraine,” the text of the document says.

As reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in The Hague called for the creation of an international tribunal for the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
