Kyiv Cancer Center purchases medical equipment for UAH 30 mln in 2022

KYIV. March 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In 2022, the Kyiv City Clinical Oncology Center purchased medical equipment for UAH 30 million, the acting director of the oncology center, Oleksandr Kliusov, has said.

“In total, we purchased equipment worth UAH 30 million,” he said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

Kliusov said that, in particular, “with the personal support of Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the Department of Health of the Kyiv City State Administration in 2022 purchased two modern powerful linear accelerators for radiation therapy for the cancer center.”

“So we already have five linear accelerators. To install the equipment it was necessary to repair two bunkers. Construction work is underway to reconstruct the bunker rooms for installing this high-tech equipment, which is planned to complete in early May,” he said.

Kliusov said that in 2023, it is planned to create a radiology center based on the cancer center.

“We plan to create one of Ukraine’s most powerful radiological clinics, which will operate at full capacity in 2023. The launch of the radiology center will increase the number of patients by almost 75% and reduce the waiting time from a month to one week,” Kliusov said.

As reported, the Kyiv City Clinical Cancer Center received about 30,000 patients in 2022.
