Macron intends to continue dialogue with Putin on safety of nuclear power plants in Ukraine

WASHINGTON. Dec 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – French President Emmanuel Macron plans to continue discussing security issues with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future.

"I will continue to talk with President Putin," Macron said at a press conference at the White House, answering a reporter’s question about the French president’s plans to call Putin in the coming days or weeks.

"We constantly tried to prevent escalation and to get some concrete results. So, I will talk to him about security and safety of nuclear power plants, including Zaporizhia. And over the past few months, we did some work on the Chornobyl Nuclear Plant, and there is some outstanding work ongoing, which is very important, by Mr. Grossi and his agency, the IAEA," Macron said during a joint press conference with U.S. President Joe Biden.
