Maliar: Russia may not be able to fight as intensively as before, but they still have enough reserves

KYIV. Jan 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Hanna Maliar stressed that the Russians have a huge human resource that can be used, and although the Russian Federation is no longer able to conduct military operations with such intensity as before, the enemy still has enough reserves to fight this war.

Answering a question on the air of the national telethon whether the Russians had really exhausted their capabilities in offensive operations around Bakhmut, Maliar said that "it is difficult to make an unambiguous forecast, because today the enemy is involving, in addition to regular troops, private armies."

"There is information that now not only ‘Wagner’ is located there, but also other units, for example, ‘Patriot,’ it seems. There is also a third division of irregular troops. That is, you must understand that the Russians have a huge human resource that they can use, and they are trying to attach it both on a regular basis and in private armies," she said.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that one should not underestimate the resource of the Russian Federation as a state.

"Perhaps they are no longer in a position to fight with such intensity as they started, but they still have enough reserves to basically fight this war. We can’t relax in any way. And you can see what heavy battles are going on in Donetsk direction," Maliar said.
