KYIV. Oct 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – In Malta, on October 28-29, the third meeting on the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula at the level of national security and foreign policy advisors will be held, the presidential press service reported with reference to Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak.
Yermak reportedly held a meeting via videoconference on Thursday with representatives of the international non-governmental organization The Elders, which includes senior government officials, peace activists and human rights activists.
“On October 28-29, Malta will host the third meeting of diplomatic advisers and political directors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on national security issues and representatives of leading international organizations, dedicated to discussing and agreeing on specific plans for the implementation of the provisions of the Peace Formula proposed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy,” the presidential press service quoted Yermak as saying.
Earlier on the telethon, Yermak said that the meeting in Malta would bring together about 60 participants and would be a powerful step towards preparing for the Peace Summit.
“There is already a number of confirmed participants in this meeting. Today there are already about 60 of them … There will be representatives from different and even very unexpected countries who will be there for the first time … If you look at the number of participants who were in Jeddah and Copenhagen, then now our number has already significantly increased,” he said.
Speaking about the location of the meeting, namely Malta, the head of the President’s Office said that “Malta is a state that has good relations with many countries in the world, accordingly, this country is a place where it is possible and logical to hold such meetings.”
Yermak also noted that he has very optimistic expectations from the upcoming event. “This meeting will be a powerful step for organizing a peace summit at the level of leaders,” he said.
In particular, the participants, according to him, will discuss the specific developments of previously created working groups on the five provisions of the Peace Formula, which included representatives of Ukraine, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The specified provisions of the Peace Formula include food security, humanitarian issues, restoration of territorial integrity, etc.
“We believe that these concrete developments will become not only direct steps towards ending the war, the return of a just world, our people and territories, captives and deported children, but also steps towards overcoming the crises that arose as a result of the war. I believe that if our experience is successful, then it can become an international mechanism to combat these crises in the future, wherever they appear,” he said.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the meeting of advisers on the World Formula would bring together representatives from all continents of the world.
