Members of UN Independent Intl Commission of Inquiry in Ukraine to pay visit to Kyiv on Nov 13-16

KYIV. Nov 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Members of the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry in Ukraine will make their next visit to the country in the period from November 13 to November 16, 2023.

According to the UN Human Rights Council, the commissioners will travel to Kyiv as part of their permanent fact-finding mission to investigate alleged violations and infringements of human rights, as well as violations of international humanitarian law.

Three commissioners participating in the mission – Erik Møse (Chairman), Pablo de Greiff and Vrinda Grover — are to meet with government officials, members of civil society, representatives of United Nations agencies and international organizations to discuss the situation in Ukraine.

The United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry in Ukraine is an independent body authorized by the UN Human Rights Council to investigate all alleged violations and infringements of human rights and violations of international humanitarian law, as well as related crimes in the context of aggression against Ukraine by the Russian Federation.

The Commission will submit a comprehensive report to the UN Human Rights Council in March 2024.
