KYIV. Nov 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will present the Honorary Ambassador of Ukraine 2022 award for promoting Ukraine in the world, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
"Even last year, we decided to celebrate the title of ‘Honorary Ambassador of Ukraine’ to Ukrainians and foreigners who promote our state in the world. The war prevented the implementation of these plans in the spring, but made the award even more relevant. After all, this year the reputation of Ukraine in the world has reached a new level, and this is the contribution of many wonderful people from many fields. We believe that they deserve recognition," the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, citing Kuleba.
The title of Honorary Ambassador is the highest distinction in the field of public diplomacy. It is given to people who during the year made an outstanding contribution to strengthening the global reputation of Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry said.
The minister said the award is awarded in nine categories, in particular for achievements in the field of cultural, economic, expert, culinary, scientific and educational, sports, digital diplomacy, as well as "Honorary Ambassador of Ukraine – a matter of life" for an outstanding lifetime contribution to the popularization of Ukraine. This year, the list will also include the title "Honorary Ambassador of Ukraine – a cause for victory" for those who, by promoting the image of Ukraine, bring its victory closer.
