KYIV. Nov 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Digital Transformation plans to present a ten-year Innovation Strategy in December, said Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov at the annual general meeting of the European Business Association (EBA).
“I think that in December or January, more likely in December, we will present a new strategy for the development of innovation in our country. We are developing it now, and this will be a single, clear answer to what we will do every month so that innovation develops in our country,” Fedorov said.
According to him, the initiative will also be presented on the sidelines of the annual World Economic Forum in Davos.
As part of developing the strategy, the Ministry of Digital Transformation studied the innovation strategies of the top 20 countries with the highest GDP. The experience of countries that developed innovations during wars was also studied. Experts in economic sectors at the national and local level were involved in the work, the deputy prime minister said.
“And this will essentially be a signpost of where we are moving,” Fedorov concluded.
The strategy is designed for ten years, but the main changes will be implemented as quickly as possible.
“We will try to do all the most important things as quickly as possible. We will do as quickly as possible with regard to intellectual property, industrial parks, and the integration of science into the real sector of the economy,” the official emphasized.
He also noted that a strategy for transforming the education sector would be presented separately.
