More countries should take part in Zelensky peace plan summit than voted on resolution on Ukraine's territorial integrity at UNGA – Yermak

KYIV. Dec 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said that more countries should take part in a summit on the peace plan of President Volodymyr Zelensky than voted on the resolution on Ukraine’s territorial integrity at the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

"To date, we have received confirmation of interest and support from many of our strategic partners. They have all already said not only ‘yes,’ but are already declaring their desire to lead on one of the points. Today we want the list of countries that would take part in the summit and in the meeting of the UN General Assembly regarding the support of our plan to be larger than even the record number of countries that supported the resolution against the annexation of our territories," Yermak said on the air of a nationwide telethon.

According to him, the relevant work was carried out today in Kyiv with Ukrainian ambassadors in foreign countries.

"This is a very powerful work. We spoke today with our ambassadors. I think that everyone understands that if Ukrainians live today in a state of war and are fighting, then our ambassadors should also have such a feeling. There is not much time left," Yermak said.

"And it is necessary that today the topic of the peace plan is constantly heard in the world. So that people understand what we are talking about, so that the initiative is in our hands, and so that we overcome the Russian narrative that Russia is spreading in countries where we do not have much influence [Asia, Africa, Latin America], that the problems of the food crisis or the environment arose precisely because of the war in Ukraine and the sanctions policy of Western countries. Of course, this is not true. All these reasons are caused by Russia’s criminal war," the head of the President’s Office summed up.

As reported, the resolution on the territorial integrity of Ukraine was supported by 143 states of the world at the UN General Assembly in October this year.
