More than 2,500 people already evacuated from Kherson, suburbs – Reintegration Ministry

KYIV. Nov 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – More than 2,500 residents of Kherson and suburbs have been evacuated to safer regions of Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereschuk, who is also the Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, has said.

"We have well-developed routes. For example, from Kryvyi Rih to Lviv, from Kherson to Khmelnytsky. One can also get to Mykolaiv or Odesa and take an evacuation train there," the press service of the ministry cited Vereschuk as saying.

According to the minister, representatives of regional military administrations meet newly arrived citizens to help them with settlement, registration as internally displaced persons, receiving humanitarian aid.

"First of all, people hope was assistance in cash. That is why they receive it immediately after arrival. This adds confidence to them that the government will take care of them at a new place," Vereschuk said.
