By KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The majority of French residents support punishing Russian President Vladimir Putin for aggression against Ukraine. This is evidenced by the results of a sociological study by the French company OpinionWay, which were presented at the conference entitled "Is security possible in Europe without condemnation of the crime of aggression?" at Sciences Po University in Paris on Tuesday.
The study was conducted on November 16-17. More than a thousand people took part in it. In response to the question: do you think it is necessary to punish Vladimir Putin for the crime of aggression that Russia committed against Ukraine, 86% of the French answered positively.
Supporters of the green party Europe Ecologie Les Verts have the largest number of those who want to punish Putin (98%), the least are among supporters of the PCF – the Communist Party of France (76%).
Among the supporters of incumbent president Emmanuel Macron, 98% are in favor of punishing Vladimir Putin, among the voters of Marie Le Pen, 87% of voters want to punish the Russian dictator.
The study was commissioned by the association Unis pour l’Ukraine and with the participation of the Renaissance Foundation.
