KYIV. Nov 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The municipal enterprise Mykolaivelectrotrans has announced a tender for the purchase of 40 12-meter low-floor trolleybuses with the ability to run autonomously up to 20 km, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
According to the procurement announcement published on the EBRD website, the trolleybuses are purchased using EBRD loan funds and grant funds from the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) managed by the bank.
In addition to trolleybuses, the purchase includes spare parts, equipment and tools for maintenance, and related services.
Open bidding was announced on October 25, applications are accepted until December 11 of the current year.
As part of cooperation with the EBRD to update urban electric transport, Mykolaiv before the full-scale invasion received 30 Dnipro trolleybuses (assembled at Pivdenmash) under a contract for the supply of 40 trolleybuses, the rest are being supplied in small quantities this year after the resumption of work under the contract.
In July 2022, some 18 trolleybuses were damaged as a result of shelling at the Mykolaivelectrotrans checkpoint.
