NATO allies announce transfer of 155mm artillery, shells and armored vehicles to Ukraine – Kuleba

KYIV. Nov 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Bucharest, the allies announced the transfer of 155-mm artillery, shells and armored vehicles to Ukraine, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.

"At this meeting, new countries’ contributions to our energy security were announced: transformers, generators, weapons, and winter uniforms. I cannot list all this, but among these positions there are 155mm artillery, and shells, and armored vehicles – all this will soon arrive in Ukraine and strengthen our Armed Forces. But everything has to happen very quickly, we cannot wait," Kuleba said in a Facebook video message on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister stressed that he thanked all the states that were unanimous that they would be with Ukraine for as long as necessary.

"This is an extremely strong signal, before we did not have such unanimous support in this particular point … The war lasts a short, medium, long time, but they will be with us as long as necessary," Kuleba said.

The minister added that he asked the allies not only to be with Ukraine for as long as necessary, but also to provide Ukraine with everything it needs as quickly as required.

The Foreign Minister drew attention to the fact that he called for a decision to transfer NATO-type Western tanks to Ukraine.

"I gave a very simple example that from the very beginning of the war there were always some psychological barriers regarding the supply of weapons: either they didn’t supply us with artillery, then they didn’t supply us with MLRS, or something else. And now they supply everything to us. But they made these decisions after some kind of tragedy happened at the front, and they no longer had any other choice but to make this decision. So I said: change your logic, don’t wait for something bad to happen, make this decision now in order to prevent bad developments, in order to act proactively and liberate even more territories and Ukrainian citizens," Kuleba said.
