NATO Cyber Defense Center to help ensure Ukraine's cyber resilience

KYIV. Nov 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine continues active cooperation with the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, the Service said on its Telegram channel on Thursday.

"CCDCOE Director Mart Noorma stressed that the Center will fully support Ukraine in countering cyber aggression from Russia and expects the completion of all procedures necessary for our state to join CCDCOE," the message reads.

According to him, the departments discussed practical interaction and cooperation between the State Special Communications Service’s units responsible for cybersecurity with the Centre, as well as Ukraine’s opposition to cyber attacks and CCDCOE’s assistance in ensuring the cyber stability of our state.

They also discussed possible security risks in cyberspace for other countries; cyber defense strategies of partner countries based on the experience that Ukraine already has, and potential areas of joint research in the field of cybersecurity, including in the field of critical infrastructure protection.

In addition, CCDCOE is considering the issue of involving representatives of Ukraine in future cyber studies using the capacities of State-owned Telecommunications.

As reported, in August 2021, Ukraine applied for membership in CCDCOE, which was unanimously supported on March 4 of this year.
