No fuel shortage expected despite possible increase in demand for fuel – Shmyhal

KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said that no shortage of fuel is expected in the country despite a possible increase in demand for petrol and diesel fuel.

"Under conditions of increasing imports of diesel and petrol generators, we understand that the demand for fuel may increase. But the Economy Ministry does not expect its shortage," he said at a government meeting on Tuesday.

According to the prime minister, the government is in constant dialogue with fuel networks and closely monitors the balance of imports and consumption.

"In recent months, our import amounted to around 700,000 tonnes per month, which allows us to meet the needs of consumers," he said.
