Occupation forces' losses in eastern Ukraine eight times higher than that of Ukraine – Syrsky

KYIV. Dec 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukrainian defense forces destroyed around 11,000 Russian occupation forces’ personnel and more than 1,100 units of military hardware in November of this year, including around 130 tanks and 260 pieces of artillery and mortars of various calibers, Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrsky has said.

According to him, the losses of the occupiers in the eastern directions are eight times higher than that of Ukraine.

“In the east, the number of killed Russian soldiers is approximately eight times higher than the losses of the Ukrainian defense forces. Despite this, the Russian occupiers rely on human resources. Unlike the enemy, the Ukrainian defense forces are trying to achieve success through successful tactical actions, accurate artillery and mortar fire, attacks by drones and small arms,” he said on the Telegram channel on Monday.

According to Syrsky, the Russian occupation forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, and Bakhmut axes.

“In order to create conditions for blocking Kupiansk, the enemy is trying to capture the settlement of Synkivka with assault companies. However, it has been suffering significant losses in manpower. In connection with this, it began to transfer assault units that were in reserve to this area. In addition, the Russian occupiers are carrying out active offensive operations in the Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Lyman Pershy axes and in the Siversk axis,” he said.
