Occupiers carry out more than 30 attacks in eastern Ukraine over day, fiercest fighting continues in Bakhmut, Maryinka – AFU General Staff

KYIV. May 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian occupiers continue to focus their main efforts on Lymany, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Maryinka directions in eastern Ukraine, according to operational information on the Russian invasion as of 18.00 of Wednesday, published on the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“During the day, the enemy made more than 30 attacks on these sectors of the front. The fiercest fighting continues in the towns of Bakhmut and Maryinka,” the summary says.

At the same time, the General Staff noted that the attempts of the invaders’ offensive in these two towns, as well as in Avdiyivka area, were unsuccessful. In Lymany direction, the invaders tried to advance in the area of the Serebrianske forestry, and in Shakhtarsk direction – in the area of Novomykhailivka, also unsuccessfully.

The enemy did not conduct offensive actions in Kupyansk direction on Wednesday. In Zaporizhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to conduct defensive actions, in Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, it continues to maintain a military presence in the border areas.

There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups in Volyn and Polissia directions. Certain units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation are located on the training grounds of Belarus and beyond, the General Staff reported.
