Orban, when voting for decision to open accession negotiations with Ukraine, leaves hall in agreement with other leaders

BRUSSELS. Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in agreement with other members of the European Council, left the hall during the vote for the opening of accession negotiations with Ukraine, which allowed for a unanimous decision.

A senior European diplomat told reporters about this in Brussels on Thursday on the sidelines of the summit. The diplomat said that at the time of the vote Prime Minister Orban was absent from the hall, which had been agreed upon in advance.

This allowed for a unanimous decision by all other members of the European Council.
