By WASHINGTON. Dec 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The U.S. Department of Defense and Lockheed Martin Corporation have signed a contract for the production of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) HIMARS in the amount of $ 431 million, the Pentagon said.
The message says that the contract provides for “full-rate production of High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and support services to satisfy an urgent need to support the Army and various Foreign Military Sales partners.”
An estimated completion date is December 31, 2025. Fiscal 2023 missile procurement, Army funds in the amount of $209 million were obligated at the time of the award, the Pentagon said.
The message does not specify which foreign partners it is planned to supply HIMARS to.
