Platform to be created after conference in France to coordinate assistance to Ukraine to get through winter – French FM

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – After a conference in France held on December 13, a platform will be created to coordinate assistance to Ukraine for the winter period, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna has said.

"Now, regarding the coordination mechanism that we will create … We are carefully considering our ability to respond, we will additionally save EUR 12 million to respond to possible future circumstances. Many countries and organizations will take part in this coordination mechanism, not only the EU states," Colonna said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Paris on Tuesday.

The central role in coordination, according to the minister, will be with the European Commission.

"The purpose of the conference was also to expand the circle of friends. We had India, Qatar, Indonesia, Cambodia among partners," Colonna said.

In turn, Shmyhal said that this platform will contain information about the needs of Ukraine, it will also provide mechanisms for providing an instant response to challenges from partners.
