Poland to give EUR 20 mln to support Grain from Ukraine initiative – Morawiecki

KYIV. Nov 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Poland will provide EUR 20 million to support the Grain from Ukraine program, under which food will be delivered from Ukraine to poor countries in Asia and Africa, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has said.

"We want to support this initiative, so we are providing EUR 20 million to support the initiative of President Zelensky… We must continue supporting such initiatives of the Ukrainian president, because Ukraine is suffering – and at the same time, Zelensky is preparing this very generous initiative to help African countries, Asia, the Middle East," Morawiecki said at a press conference following the International Summit on Food Security in Kyiv on Saturday.

Also, according to him, over the past few months, Poland has been preparing Solidarity Lanes with comprehensive support for Ukraine, including support for the export of goods, food, etc.

"We have prepared Solidarity Lanes over the past few months, because Ukraine requires not only defense or financial support, but also comprehensive. Support in terms of the export of goods, food," he said.

The Polish Prime Minister also said that his country "cannot return to doing business as usual with the Russian Federation, because this would mean that Poland does not pay attention to Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine."

In addition, he said that Poland will continue supporting the Ukrainians in their heroic struggle against the Russian aggressor.

"We will never lay down our arms. We will never stop helping the heroic struggle of Ukraine, its struggle against the barbarian regime. Ukraine must be successful. I am confident in the victory of Ukraine. And let 2023 be the year of victory and recovery of Ukraine," Morawiecki said.
