Power shortage in power system currently stands at 19% of forecast consumption – PM

KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The power shortage in the power system currently stands at 19% of the forecast consumption, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.

"Despite the strike on some energy infrastructure facilities, the power engineers promise to eliminate the consequences of yesterday’s shelling in the coming days. However, we understand that the power shortage in the power system will continue. Currently, it is 19% of the forecast consumption," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Tuesday.

According to him, in just the past few months, 35% of key objects of backbone networks have been damaged by massive attacks by Russians.

"70% of them were hit two or more times. Yesterday, the enemy fired seven missiles at once at one of the substations in Odesa region. Therefore, outage schedules continue to be activated in the country," he said.
