KYIV. Oct 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian law enforcers are investigating five criminal cases on genocide, the main one is on the fact of committing genocide of the Ukrainian people, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin has said.

"We have recorded more than 300 facts related specifically to the definition of genocide. More than 2,000 of our people, who were forced to flee from the territory of Ukraine or their places of residence due to hostilities, were interrogated," he said in an exclusive interview with the Interfax-Ukraine News Agency.

Also, almost 300 Russian prisoners of war were interrogated, and among other things they were asked about their understanding of the concepts of "denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine," Kostin said.

"Today, five cases on genocide are being investigated. Among them, the main case is on the fact of committing genocide of the Ukrainian people," the Prosecutor General said.

He emphasized that "Russian propagandists, whose works are examples of the ideological basis of genocide, appear in the mainline proceedings on genocide of the Ukrainian people […] This case mentions the names of those who followed the instructions of Putin and his propagandists directly."
