Rada receives conclusions from partners on draft laws on media and national communities – Stefanchuk

KYIV. Nov 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada has received opinions from European partners on draft laws on media and on national communities, Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk has said.

"We are conducting a number of negotiations, including with European institutions, because it is very important for us that these acts are verified. Literally today we have received a certain, let’s say, decision on the draft law on media. We have received a certain conclusion to the draft law on national minorities [communities]. We are waiting for the decision of the Venice Commission on the draft law on constitutional judges," the speaker said on the air of the national telethon #UARazom on Tuesday.

He also recalled that the parliament intends to adopt laws by the end of the year related to the fulfillment of seven requirements for Ukraine to maintain the status of a candidate for membership of the European Union and the opportunity to begin negotiations on full membership.
