KYIV. Oct 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov thanked the United States, in particular, US President Joseph Biden and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin for allocating another tranche of security assistance to Ukraine.
"I’m grateful to the US president, the Secretary of Defense and the American people for another package of security assistance valued $275 million. Immediate threat requires a proper response. We believe in a joint victory over the terrorist state," he said on Twitter.
As reported, on October 28, the United States announced the approval of the 24th presidential assistance package in the amount of $275 million to meet Ukraine’s security and defense needs. This tranche of assistance includes funds for the purchase of additional ammunition for Himars missile systems, 5,000 high-precision 155mm artillery shells, more than 1,300 anti-tank systems, 125 army off-road vehicles and four satellite dishes.
In total, since the beginning of work of Biden’s administration, the United States has provided more than $18.5 billion in military assistance to Ukraine.
