KYIV. Dec 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The main hostilities over the past two days have been concentrated around the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region and the city of Svatove in Luhansk region, according to a defense intelligence report published on Twitter by the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Tuesday morning.
"Over the last 48 hours, fighting has remained focused around the Bakhmut sector of Donetsk Oblast [region] and near Svatove in Luhansk. Russia continues to initiate frequent small-scale assaults in these areas, although little territory has changed hands," the UK defense intelligence said in the report.
To the north of Ukraine, elements of Russia’s first Guards Tank Army are also reported to have been among the Russian forces recently deployed to Belarus. "This formation was likely conducting training before its deployment and is unlikely to have the support units needed to make it combat-ready," British intelligence said.
