Russia fires up to 18 cruise missiles at Dnipropetrovsk region, gas extraction facilities, four of them shot down – Air Force

KYIV. Nov 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Four Kh-101 cruise missiles, two guided air missiles and five Shahed kamikaze drones, fire by the Russian occupation forces fired at the territory of Ukraine on November 17, were shot down, the Ukrainian Air Force Command said on Facebook on Thursday.

"On November 17, Russia again mounted an attack from Tu-95ms strategic aircraft from Volgodonsk, Rostov region. Nine missile bombers fired up to 18 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles. This time the enemy aimed its strikes at an enterprise in Dnipropetrovsk region and the gas extraction industry of Ukraine. Four cruise missiles were destroyed in the area of responsibility of the Center air command and by means of the air Force and air defense of the Ground Force," it said.

Also, all five Shahed-136 drones, which were launched from the territory of Belarus to attack Ukraine, were shot down in the central region.

"In the southern direction, the air defense of the Pivden air command destroyed two Kh-59 guided air missiles," the command said.

The occupation forces also shelled the frontline cities of Ukraine using rocket artillery and S-300 anti-aircraft missiles.
