Russia imposes long curfew on occupied territories for up to ten days – Humeniuk

KYIV. Dec 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian occupation troops are imposing a protracted curfew lasting up to ten days in some temporarily occupied settlements in order to weaken the Ukrainian resistance movement, Head of the Joint Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Pivden (South) Operational Command Natalia Humeniuk said live on Sunday.

"In some localities, they impose such an overlong curfew of seven to ten days so that the local population absolutely cannot leave their homes," she said. In addition, as Humeniuk noted, this is directly related to their desire to curb the powerful Ukrainian resistance movement, "which haunts them where our artillery and rocket systems are lacking." According to Humeniuk, the Russians are suffering heavy losses due to the work of our resistance movement.

In addition, she added that the Russians are gathering even police detachments from other territories of Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea to the occupied settlements, since they do not have enough strength even to restore order in their units due to low morale. In addition, the occupiers also need to identify people with a pro-Ukrainian position who are ready to ensure the work of the resistance movement.

Earlier, the Russians imposed a curfew for almost ten days in temporarily occupied Hornostaivka, Kherson region. In addition, the invaders want to introduce a round-the-clock curfew for almost a week in Melitopol.
