Russian authorities preparing for mass actions of disobedience in Vladivostok due to opposition to mobilization – intelligence

KYIV. Nov 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian authorities are preparing for possible mass actions of disobedience in Vladivostok, which may be provoked by the local population’s tough opposition to mobilization in Primorsky еerritory of Russia, the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reports.

"The local authorities of Vladivostok, Primorsky Territory of the Russian Federation are preparing for possible actions of mass disobedience. These fears are connected with the strong opposition of the local population to the actions and measures of mobilization on the territory of the region," the agency said in a statement.

It is noted that the local police and intelligence agencies are planning measures to counter possible acts of disobedience and strengthen the police regime in the region. Thus, it is planned to check the operability of video surveillance systems of institutions and organizations in Vladivostok with the provision of remote access to representatives of law enforcement agencies.

"It is expected that in the coming months, even at mass events sanctioned by the authorities, frame metal detectors will be installed at the entrance," the agency stressed.

They add that the vast majority of the local population does not support the full-scale invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine and mobilization activities in the territory of the region. "The reasons for this are the residence of a significant number of ethnic Ukrainians in the region and the loss of Russia during the hostilities," the Main Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Defense said.
