Russian war of aggression against Ukraine claims lives of 437 children – PGO

KYIV. Nov 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As of the morning of November 19, 2022, more than 1,274 children were affected by Russia’s full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) has said.

"According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 437 children were killed and more than 837 suffered injuries of varying severity. These figures are not final, because the work continues to update them with data from the territories of active hostilities, temporarily occupied and recently liberated territories," it said.

Children were most affected in Donetsk region – 423, Kharkiv region – 266, Kyiv region – 117, Mykolaiv region – 77, Zaporizhia region – 75, Chernihiv region – 68, Luhansk region – 64, Kherson region – 64, and Dnipropetrovsk region – 32.

Due to the bombing and shelling by the Russian occupation forces, 2,719 educational institutions were damaged. Some 332 of them were completely destroyed.
