Russians continue to hold hostage six children from Zaporizhia region – local authorities

KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Russian invaders continue to hold hostage 219 civilians of Zaporizhia region, including six minors, Head of the regional military administration Oleksandr Starukh said.

"In the future, the persecution and terrorist activities of the occupier against civilians continue. Since the beginning of the war, we have confirmed that 559 people were abducted, taken hostage. A significant part was released or released by the occupier, but 219 still continue to be held hostage… In including six minors who continue to be held hostage," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Starukh said that most of the hostages of the occupiers are in the city of Enerhodar, where the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant is located. According to him, since March, the Russians have been holding the first deputy mayor of Enerhodar, Ivan Samoidiuk, and the mayor of Dniprorudny, Yevhen Matveyev.
