Russians reduces grouping of their ships in Black Sea to seven, number of launch vehicles to two

KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – By 11:00 on Thursday, the number of enemy ships has been reduced to seven, including two Kalibr missile carriers with a total salvo of up to 16 missiles, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

“As of 11:00 on May 4, 2023: seven enemy ships are on combat duty in the Black Sea, including two carriers of Caliber missiles, a total salvo of up to 16 missiles; in the Sea of Azov – one enemy ship,” the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Facebook.

As reported, up to five enemy ships are on combat duty in the Mediterranean, of which one is a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo of up to four missiles;

During the day, in the interests of Russia, the passage of the Kerch-Yenikal Strait was carried out: in the Sea of Azov some 16 ships, of which two moved in the direction of the Bosphorus Strait; in the Black Sea some 15 vessels, of which five continued to move in the direction of the Bosphorus Strait.

As noted, Russia continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea 1974 (SOLAS), turning off automatic identification systems (AIS) on civilian ships in the Sea of Azov.
