SBU finds occupiers' torture room in liberated Oleksandrivka in Mykolaiv region

KYIV. Jan 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) found another torture room in a seized private house that was used by the Russian invaders during the occupation of the town of Oleksandrivka in Voznesensk district, Mykolaiv region.

The special service has said on its website on Tuesday that the occupiers detained and violently tortured local residents, who refused to cooperate with the enemy, in order to find out the addresses of Ukrainian patriots and in particular members of the resistance movement.

"They choked the victims with plastic bags, beat them with heavy items and applied stun guns," it said.

Ukrainian citizens, who were illegally detained and tortured by the occupiers, have been identified.

A criminal case was opened under Part 1 of Article 438 (violation of the laws and rules of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigative proceedings continue to identify the occupiers involved in the war crime.
