KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The second Patriot air defense system provided by Germany will be deployed in Ukraine this year, Aussiedlerbote reported on Wednesday with a reference to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
In addition, according to Scholz, armored vehicles, ammunition and winter protective clothing for the Ukrainian armed forces as well as power generators to bridge energy shortages will be provided.
“All of this is urgently needed. Because Russia has now put its economy entirely at the service of this war. Russian weapons production is running at full speed,” Scholz said.
The Russian president is counting on international support for Ukraine waning, he said, adding that “the danger that this calculation could work out cannot be denied.”
