Shmyhal, delegation of ministers of Slovakia discuss assistance to Ukraine in winter conditions

KYIV. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and ministers of the Slovak Republic, who visited Kyiv on Thursday, discussed Ukraine’s needs for energy equipment for the winter period, a government press release says.

"Due to russian shelling, almost half of Ukraine’s thermal generation is either damaged or destroyed. Zaporizhia NPP and Kakhovka HPP remain occupied. Therefore, the support of Slovakia strengthens our resilience in the passage of winter," Shmyhal noted.

A delegation of ministers of the Slovak Republic includes: Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Rastislav Káčer, Minister of Defense Jaroslav Naď and Minister of Economy Karel Hirman.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked for the new package of military assistance approved by the Government of Slovakia, which, in particular, will include demining systems, and for the plans to provide our country with about 300 generators.

In their turn, the ministers of the Government of Slovakia confirmed their intention to render assistance to Ukraine with weapons, finance, sanctions and EU membership.
