Shmyhal urges Canadian companies to invest in Ukraine now

KYIV. Nov 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal called on Canadian companies to invest in Ukraine right now.

"Those who are the first to invest in Ukraine will benefit the most in the future. Speaking at the Rebuild Ukraine business conference organized by Canada, I called on Canadian companies to join the reconstruction of our country now. The civil and energy infrastructure of Ukraine continues to suffer blows from Russian terrorists. I pointed out the importance of assistance from Canadian businesses in meeting the critical needs of the state," Shmyhal wrote on the Telegram channel.

Also, the priority areas for investment, according to the prime minister, are: security and the military-industrial complex, the agricultural sector, energy, IT and new infrastructure.

"We are negotiating with IFC and MIGA on war risk insurance to boost investment attraction. Canadian $500 million sovereign bonds issued by the Canadian government will also become an important tool for strengthening Ukraine," he added.
