Shmyhal: We believe 2023 to go down in history of Ukraine as year of great victory, peace

KYIV. Dec 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held the last regular government meeting in 2022.

"We are holding it in Kyiv. In the free capital of an indestructible country. Due to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for making this possible. February 24, 2022 will forever go down in history as a turning point for Ukraine and the world. This day was the beginning of the end of the Russian under-empire. Russia lost strategically at the moment when I decided that I could conquer the Ukrainians and destroy our statehood. The free people of a free country showed the whole world what it means to be ready to fight the enemy, whom everyone called much stronger than you," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on Friday.

The prime minister thanked the military, energy workers, rescuers, public utilities, doctors and "all the brave Ukrainians who here and now continue to fight, work, help the Armed Forces and their country."

"2022 will go down in history as a symbol of the struggle and stability of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We believe that 2023 will go down in the history of Ukraine as a year of great victory and peace," Shmyhal said.
