Slovenia to continue helping Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggressor – Defense Minister

KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Slovenia will continue to assist Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor, Defense Minister Marjan Šarec has said.

"Since the beginning of the war, the Republic of Slovenia has been providing humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine, demining equipment, helping refugees, and training Ukrainian servicemen with the participation of its instructors. Our negotiations are focused on the future. We will help the wounded soldiers. We are interested in participating in projects for the post-war development and reconstruction of Ukraine … We will not leave the Ukrainians and will be by your side in this difficult time," said Šarec at a meeting with Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.

According to the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the defense sector, the possibility of cooperation in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, the beginning of a program of psychological rehabilitation of Ukrainian servicemen, as well as the treatment of wounded defenders and defenders in medical and rehabilitation institutions in Slovenia.

"The military-technical assistance of the Republic of Slovenia at the right moment became a real reinforcement of the Armed Forces on the battlefield … As for our prospects, I can say that these will be important things for the defense of Ukraine from the invaders," Reznikov said.
