KYIV. Nov 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ministry of Social Policy, together with UNICEF, plans to launch a program of comprehensive support for social workers who continue to provide services to families with children in the conditions of the war with Russia, the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy reported.
"The work of social workers in wartime conditions is of particular relevance. At the same time, the workload on them is extremely increasing. Therefore, there is a need to help them with additional knowledge, provide psychological assistance skills, and provide digital tools to facilitate their work. All these events are priorities for us and our international partners. We are grateful to UNICEF for supporting the development of social services in Ukraine," the press service quotes Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Oksana Zholnovych as saying.
Murat Shahin, a UNICEF representative in Ukraine, notes that social workers continue to provide services to Ukrainian children and families affected by the war. Therefore, the priority is to do everything possible to ensure that social workers have access to services that help them do their job better, and therefore provide better support for the children and families who they work with.
This, in particular, is about expanding the electronic case management system, which will simplify documentation and introduce digital social services. It is noted that UNICEF is helping to provide social workers with technical equipment for the digitalization of work.
The Ministry of Social Policy noted that UNICEF purchased 5,000 tablets designed to facilitate the work of social work specialists and specialists in children’s services. It is noted that the delivery of tablets to the regions has already begun.
Since the start of the all-out war, UNICEF has also provided 1,000 professionals with laptops.
