Some 12,000 men tried to illegally leave Ukraine since introduction of martial law, 15 of them died – Border Guard Service

KYIV. Dec 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24 and introduction of martial law, some 12,000 men liable for military service tried to illegally leave Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has said.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale war, more than 2,100 criminal cases were launched: more than 430 of them – on illegal transfer of people, 1,650 – on forgery of documents, more than 20 – on draft evasion. More than 950 people were notified of suspicion of having committed these crimes and more than 350 people have been brought to criminal justice. Also, 410 unsuccessful attempts to bribe border guards for an amount of more than UAH 4.9 million were recorded," it said on Facebook.

In addition, since the introduction of martial law, twelve cases of finding drowned men were recorded on Ukraine-Romania river section of the border. Also, border guards found the bodies of three men who died in the mountains.
